What is Lymphoma Cancer?
Lymphoma occurs when abnormal cells within the lymphatic system of the body grow in an uncontrolled way. The body's immune system included the 'Lymphatic system', tissues such as bone marrow, tonsils and spleen, lymphatic vessels and lymph nodes. Lymp is fluid that contains waste products, that are collected by Lymphatic vessels. Lymph contains white blood cells including cells called lymphocytes, which help protect the body against infections. About 70–80% of lymphomas develop in the lymph nodes.3 The rest develop outside the lymph nodes. In time lymphoma cells replace normal lymphocytes, making the immune system weak and unable to fight infection.
